Having been empty for two years, this stone-built cottage in the pretty Yorkshire market town of Helmsley was rather dark and bland but my client, its new owner, could see its potential.  She knew the interior needed to be light, bright and contemporary but was unsure where to start.  I was enlisted to help her introduce plenty of bold colours and maximise the space for it to work as a commercial holiday let as well as her own holiday retreat. Photographs reproduced by kind permission of Dave Burton/Heather Dixon Features.
